4) Panel Business
    a) Are changes needed for any of the panel’s current descriptors and/or course approval criteria?
    b) Outstanding / ongoing topics from previous panel meeting(s)
From the Fall Summary - Further discussion:

~ Discuss CS 915 Discrete Structures CS 915 - Discrete Structures:  Ivan continues to be concerned about the extensive amount of content required for approval under this code compared to the GECC Math panel's M1905 descriptor and suggested changing the descriptor to provide options with a minimum number of topics required as provided in the M1905 descriptor as follows:

Introduction to analysis of finite collections and mathematical foundations of sequential machines, computer system design, data structures and algorithms. Includes a minimum of 6 of the following: sets, counting, recursion, graph theory, trees, nets, Boolean algebra, automata, and formal grammars and languages. Prerequisite: C or better in college algebra.  Malinda requested that Ivan draft suggested changes to the CS 915 descriptor and bring to the panel for consideration at the spring '23 panel meeting.

Having this or another course such as CS 911 be an option for  fulfilling the math requirement in the statewide GECC package was also discussed.  In writing up the meeting summary, Malinda since realized that the following is already stated on the panel's major page therefore this may be a mute point: CS 915 - Discrete Structures (3-4 semester credits) may be used to fulfill IAI GECC requirements, if the course is also identified by your institution as an M1 905 - Discrete Math (3-4 semester credits)

    c) Updates
    d) Other discussion items from panel members

        i) Fall '23 = Friday, October 6th, 2023, at 10:00 via Zoom and TBD
ii) Spring  '24 = TBD in Fall '23 meeting
