Human sexuality description discription - Thanks for working on this, Christine Grela! DRAFT: Human Sexuality examines the psychological, sociological, cultural, and biological aspects of sexuality. This course will focus on research and knowledge on a variety of topics ranging from sexual orientation and gender identity to sexually transmitted diseases and contraception. University of Illinois: Community Health: CHLH 206 Human Sexuality credit: 2 Hours. Emphasizes the behavioral aspects of human sexuality. Topics include: birth control; prenatal care, pregnancy and childbirth; sex roles; premarital sex; lifestyles; marriage and divorce. Western Illinois: Health Education 121 Human Sexuality. (2) (General Education/Human Well-Being) The anatomical, physiological, psychological, and sociological characteristics unique to men and women, and what they bring to each other in their personal relationships. Illinois State: cross listed as PSY/SOC 123: Description: Basic psychological, socio-cultural, and physiological elements of human sexuality. Not for credit if had SOC 123. _________________________________________________ Harper – Health Education: HED 202 Health (3-0) 3 crs. Introduces students to the familial, sociological, biological and emotional implications of human sexuality. Emphasis is on exploring attitudes regarding sexual issues, clarifications of personal beliefs and development of healthy sexual behavior. CLC: PSY 228 Human Sexuality (3-0) 3 Hours This course provides an examination of the current knowledge and attitudes of the behavioral aspects of human sexuality with particular emphasis on personal, interpersonal, community, and societal influences on sexuality. Topics of interest include sexuality throughout the lifespan, sexual anatomy and physiology, gender roles and gender identity, contraception, pregnancy, birth, lifestyles, love and intimacy, abortion, sexual orientation, sexually transmitted diseases, dysfunction, power/coercion, and sale of sex. PSY 228 and SWK 228 are cross-listed. (1.1) Prerequisite: PSY 121 (C or better) COD: PSYCH 1140 Human Sexuality 3 credit hours An examination of human sexuality from a variety of psychosocial perspectives, with an emphasis on biological, psychological and cultural aspects. Prerequisite: Psychology 1100. (3 lecture hours) MCC PSY 175: Human Sexuality helps people to better understand their own sexual needs and behaviors and to be more accepting of sexual attitudes and behaviors that may differ from their own.
