MC 918 Basic Broadcast Announcing: (3 Semester Credits)
Broadcast announcing principles and techniques are discussed and applied. Includes creating, reading and delivering commercials, news, interviews, public service announcements, and special events. On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
conduct a broadcast interview;
recognize and use proper pronunciation and language skills;
develop an appropriate speaking style for broadcasting;
demonstrate an understanding of the various roles of an announcer;
operate broadcast studio equipment;
analyze, edit, and deliver broadcast copy;
develop impromptu on-air skills; and
conduct a self-evaluation of on-air performance.
