An introduction to the concepts, processes and history of animation, covering both traditional and two-dimensional computer-based animation techniques, and incorporate the use of drawn, vector, and bitmapped formats as a means of generating animated sequences. Upon successful completion of the course, students will:
demonstrate an understanding of the basic history of animation
understand and apply the principles of 2-dimensional animation
complete scripts and develop effective storyboards
apply keyframing and tweening techniques
Demonstrate effective use of synchronizing sound, color, composition, and continuity in animated sequences
demonstrate output techniques and prepare sequences for distribution
